Nearing the 100th day of celebrations here- Day 96
National Caramel Corn Day
Man, do I love caramel corn. It’s lethal. I had diabolical plans to make some homemade caramel corn when I saw this on my agenda, however being on a health kick meant indulging whole heartedly was out of the question and thus it would be wasteful.
So I walked myself to the nearest grocery store and shelled out $3 for a box, plain and simple, and then had a handful. I’ll save the rest for when I’m aaallll done being healthy 😉
National Go For Broke Day!
I really went for broke!
I had school aalllllll day, then I had to come home briefly, walk Duncan, then go to one of my placements to conduct an art therapy group for two hours which went overtime because one client was really into and I didn’t want to cut her off, so I got home at just after 8 and had to make time to Go For Broke!
Christina and I went to the Edgewater Casino
Oh the glamour
After paying $5 for parking, we went straight to the penny slots.
Christina splurged, playing the 5¢ machines and went for broke within minutes.
I, on the other hand, played it conservatively, sticking the with 1¢ slots.
This paid off. Well it at least paid for parking.
Having put a $20 in and having some ups and downs, I decided not to Go all the way For Broke. I felt lucky enough to have such a supportive friend to drive me all the way to the casino at nearly 9 o’clock on a week night to throw away money on slots, to push my luck any further. So rather, I cashed out when I had an 8$ surplus and left before I caught the fever.
Quelle Surprise – National Vitamin C Day, Walking Day & Jeep 4×4 Day was a rainy one.
Luckily for me, Christina owns a Jeep 4×4 ! As well, we are on a mega health kick right now so we have loads of fruit around for Vitamin C Day. And Duncan is always up for a walk!
This day fell right into my lap.
These fruit were literally just lying around!
We have a fancy new juicer with which I made a fancy new juice
To replicate this refreshing concoction, I recommend juicing the following:
- 1 beet
- 1 grapefruit
- 1 lemon
- 1 hunk of ginger
- 1 hunk of tumeric
- 3 celery stalks
- pinch of cinnamon
It was tasty and nourishing and I presume full of Vitamin C.
Easy as pie… juice.
Next, I had to take Duncan for a walk because he was feeling neglected in light of the new juicer (he is literally like that). Being National Walking Day, that worked out great. I thought of taking him somewhere out of the ordinary using the ol’ Jeep 4×4, in honour of Jeep 4×4 Day. Two birds, one stone.
Here I am in front of the jeep
Here is the Jeep in its entirety
And here’s Duncan at the Jericho Beach, which we drove in the Jeep to get to.
Just pumping these celebrations out!
