July 25th marked two very dairy laden holidays – National Wine and Cheese Day as well as National Hot Fudge Sundae Day
I managed to navigate my vegan way around these despite being far from vegan-coddling Vancouver quite well!
Christina took us to Gruchy’s Beach, just outside of Terrace
It was only half warmish and the water was most definitely cold, so we just had a restful lay down in the sun while Duncan explored the shoreline and other people cooler contents.
Christina and I had Hot Fudge Sundaes for lunch – I got Cashew Dream ice cream in Cinnamon Cookie Dough flavour, doused it in Coconut whipped cream, hot fudged and sprinkles. Finished with a cherry and some bananas
A truly nutritious lunch indeed
In the evening, when Christina’s fiancee Daniel and the rest of the Kitimat Gang got off work, we went for a canoe down the river
I was blessed to have a little seat in the middle, with Duncan on my lap and a beer in my hand.
When we got home, it was time to celebrate National Wine and Cheese Day We had quite the spread including vegan cream cheese, hummus, assorted crackers and breads
We wailed on these snacks and watched What We Do In The Shadows and laughed our asses off
